It is historically significant that MAIYEGUN COLLEGE is being established in Abeokuta, an ancient town in which secondary schools, particularly Abeokuta Grammar School and Baptist Boys High School, played leading roles in the last century in providing leaders in every aspects of Nigerian societies and in some cases world communities.
MAIYEGUN COLLEGE will aspire to play a similar or an even greater role in educating boys and girls to be leaders in the 21st Century.
To achieve this, the College will:
MAIYEGUN COLLEGE will prepare students for international qualifications. All students will participate actively in physical development and sport towards a positive self-image, a sense of fair play and team spirit. Through sports, co-curricular activities, community service and educational links with institutions within Africa and beyond, the College will aim at widening the students’ perceptions of their roles in society.
The College will set a standard for language, students and staff exchange programmes, science in action, computer education, agricultural science and students’ involvement in the emerging technologies.
